Twenty four years ago, after the death of an exceptional student at my school, Antonio Machado, I decided to accentuate the positive side of ourselves: humor and laughter.

 Since then I have investigated and experienced that humor and laughter are excellent means for controlling stress, for developing self-esteem, creativity, communication, relaxation, teamwork and for resolving conflicts. They are also goals in themselves, as to develop humor and laughter makes us healthier, enriches our personality and has positive repercussions at work and in life.

I am still taking courses and workshops in yoga, theater, folk dancing, ballroom dancing, conflict resolution, encounter groups, voice and clown, and have obtained the Laughter Yoga Certificate with Dr. Madam Kataria.

Having obtained the title of Camp Leader, I directed summer camps for 20 years. During that period I founded a Scout group and wrote a book on camp techniques and games. Looking back, I believe that taking groups up a mountain has much in common with developing humor and laughter, as both demand effort but are very rewarding.

I have participated in the Annual Conference for Humor Researchers “Humor Aula” organized by the General Foundation of the University of Alcalá de Henares, Madrid since it began in 2003.

Research

For the past 24 years I have been researching in two areas:
   * How to develop the sense of humor.
   * How to apply humor and laughter to work, education and life.
